Sensory play : Play Dough

Play doh Pastel by Mom

My favourite sensory play activity is Play dough table top play.

It is so versatile and can be used to teach, to heal an over stimulated mind and to feed a creative child. Wonderful!

I always make my own, it is quick and you can get the kids to help you. I suggest using the baking process to teach them a little home economic toos! #dailyteachingmoments

    • 1 cup/2.25dl of plain flour (+1/2 cup at the end)
    • 1/4 Cup/4Tbs of salt
    • 3/4 cup/1.7dl of water
    • Food colouring
    • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • Extra! I like to add some lavender scented oil, but any scent or seasoning can be added.
  • For extra sensory fun try adding marbles, yellow peas or something textural.

How to:

Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well. The dough should release from the sides of the bowl easily, add more flour if it’s still to sticky.
As an extra: you can add texture to the dough by kneeding them into it at the end.
Obs! Don’t mix textured articles with a mixer!

Have fun x
